The original three-year study answered how often drafted wide receivers eventually became fantasy starters. This brief isolates the harder question: how often did they matter immediately?

Round 1 produced 21 immediate hits in 55 chances. Its 38.2% rate carried a 95% interval of 26.5%–51.4%. Round 2 fell below one in five, and Round 3 fell to 6.2%.
The rookie-season cliff arrives after Round 1
The later-round denominator is the useful part. Rounds 4–7 supplied 259 drafted receivers and only four rookie top-36 finishes. Rounds 6 and 7 produced none in this cohort.

What this means in rookie drafts
Do not price a Day 3 receiver as though immediate relevance is the median outcome. A late pick can still win, but the bet should be cheap and supported by unusual opportunity, target competition, college production, or market movement.
Pay for immediate production only when the capital and the depth chart both support it.

METHOD
- Derived from the accepted FDL-002 cohort of 445 drafted wide receivers from 2010–2023.
- The outcome uses rookie-season regular-season PPR points and a within-position top-36 rank.
- Wilson intervals show uncertainty around every round-level rate.
- Players with zero games or zero fantasy points remain in the denominator.
LIMITS
- The result describes historical base rates; it is not a ranking of the 2026 rookie class.
- Top-36 PPR is a fantasy-utility threshold rather than a universal measure of NFL quality.
- Injury, quarterback play, depth chart, and coaching are part of the observed outcome.
- Undrafted free agents are outside the target population.
